What is Computer

A computer is an electronic device engineered to process information. The word "computer" originates from the Latin term "computare," meaning to calculate or a programmable machine. Without a program, a computer cannot execute tasks. It represents decimal numbers using binary digits.

The fundamental components of a contemporary digital computer include the input device, output device, central processing unit (CPU), mass storage device, and memory. Typically, modern computers utilize LSI chips. There are four primary functions associated with computers:

Input (Data): Input refers to the raw information entered into a computer via input devices, encompassing letters, numbers, images, etc.

Processing: Processing involves manipulating data according to specified instructions, an internal operation of the computer system.

Output: Output represents the processed data produced by the computer after data processing, often referred to as the result.

Storage: The output can be stored in storage devices for future use.
